The Architecture, Building and Planning (ABP) faculty and the University of Melbourne has a strong commitment to offering a diverse range of scholarships and prizes for undergraduate and graduate (coursework and research) students.
ABP scholarships and prizes seek to recognise high achieving students and support talented students to overcome the financial barriers that can restrict their academic pursuits.
Under the Melbourne Model, the University is committed to expanding the already generous suite of undergraduate and graduate scholarships to attract outstanding Australian and international students to the University, through:

Prize: Edward and Penelope Billson Prize in Architecture
Eligibility: Awarded to a student enrolled in the Master of Architecture who has completed the final year studio subjects and whose work ‘displays the most promise in architectural design, particularly in regard to aesthetic content’.

Eligibility: Awarded for the highest achieving result across Architectural Design Studios in the Master or Architecture

Prize: John Charles Lloyd Exhibition
Eligibility: Awarded to a student who obtains the highest aggregate mark(s) in a subject (or subjects) relating to the study of construction technology or such other related subjects in the discipline of architecture.

Prize: RAIA/Bates Smart Graduate Prize
Eligibility: Awarded to an outstanding student from the final year of the Master of Architecture degree, based on performance during that year in subjects relating to the areas of design, construction and practice. The prize winner is selected on the basis of their successful balance between design excellence and construction and practice excellence.
Value: $3300, plus an internship, AIA membership and course enrolment

Prize: Ellis Stones Memorial Awards
Eligibility: Excellence in research in Landscape Architecture. Open for competition to students enrolled in either a minor thesis in the Master of Landscape Architecture degree or a higher degree by research, either in Landscape Architecture or relevant to the practice of Landscape Architecture. Research submitted for the awards may include thesis or other significant published work.
